A stabbing at a downtown Calgary CTrain station saw paramedics treat a man for serious injuries Thursday evening.
Police said officers were called to the scene at the 8 Street S.W. station just after 6:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Police told Global News they believe the victim was stabbed in front of a convenience store.
A spokesperson for Calgary EMS said the victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries but was listed in stable condition.
“Investigators have determined that an altercation took place between five individuals believed to be known to each other, which ultimately resulted in the male victim sustaining stab wounds,” police said in a news release issued late Thursday night. “One suspect was taken into custody after fleeing the scene and charges are pending.
“Three other suspects remain at large.”
