Seniors targeted by thieves in Prince Albert

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – Prince Albert police are busy determining if two separate robberies on Remembrance Day, involving elderly victims, are related.

Around 5 p.m., an elderly woman was approached by an Aboriginal woman asking to if she could use her cellphone.

The suspect grabbed the victim’s purse and then fled in a grey van.

A couple hours later, another senior reported that an Aboriginal woman in her 20’s came to the door asking if she could use the washroom.

The resident allowed the woman in and later noticed $400 had been stolen from a bedroom.

Local police are reminding residents not to let strangers into their homes for any reason.
