TORONTO – Three people have been taken to hospital following a serious crash on icy roads near East Gwillimbury Tuesday afternoon.
The extent of two of the victims injuries is not known. The other is believed to have suffered serious injuries.
The crash happened on a rural area on Highway 11 near Morning Sideroad a few minutes before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Paramedics tell Global News the roads were icy at the time. Snow squalls had been prevalent in the area but moved east early Tuesday afternoon.
York Regional Police urged people to consider a different route Tuesday evening as they investigated what led to the serious crash.
