CALGARY- Police are working to track down a couple who has allegedly been stealing from other diners at Calgary restaurants.

Over the past 18 months, a man and woman have been showing up at local restaurants and bars. One of them distracts potential victims, while the other swipes a wallet or another valuable item from the victim’s handbag, which is typically hanging on the back of a chair.

In all eight cases, the victims didn’t realize they had been stolen from, until they tried to pay their bills. The first case happened in June 2012, with the most recent one reported in August 2013.
