VERNON — A Lumby man’s lack of attention to a traffic stop has resulted in drug charges.

The man was pulled over by RCMP last Saturday morning after he blew through a stop sign at 37th Avenue and 31st   in Vernon.

The police officer who pulled the man over noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the driver’s 1999 GMC Jimmy.

“The officer conducting a search of the vehicle and three large duffle bags filled with vacuum sealed/zip lock bagged bud was located,” says Vernon RCMP spokesman, Gord Molendyk.

Police seized more than 47 pounds from the vehicle.

The unidentified man is due in court next February.
