REGINA – The Saskatchewan government is sending money to help with relief efforts after parts of the Philippines were devastated by a typhoon.
There are fears an estimated 10,000 people may have died in the storm.
Premier Brad Wall said the government will provide $250,000 to aid victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

Many Filipinos live in Saskatchewan and Wall said the government’s thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the storm.
The Filipino community in Saskatoon is also planning a fundraiser in the coming weeks.
Global News‘ parent company, Shaw, is offering its support for those concerned about loved ones in the Philippines.
Shaw Cable has made two Filipino channels available to its customers: TFC on Channel 509 and FTV on Channel 510. Long distance calls to land lines in the Philippines are also being offered to all Shaw phone customers at no cost.
