SASKATOON – Saskatoon emergency services were called to a University of Saskatchewan (U of S) chemical laboratory on Wednesday due a potentially hazardous concoction.
Around noon, a possible mixture of hazardous chemicals was reported in the Engineering Building on campus.
Saskatoon police, firefighters and Hazmat services were called to U of S.
The area around the basement lab was cleared but no evacuation was required.
Investigators undertook a precautionary sweep to check air quality and ensure the overall safety of the campus community.
Multiple tests were conducted revealing no imminent danger within the building and normal functions have resumed.
No injuries were reported.
Officials do not believe there was any intent to disrupt exams.
Police continue to investigate.
