EDMONTON- A 21-year-old man is facing numerous charges, after a shooting near Whyte Avenue early Sunday morning.
Police were called to an alley just south of Whyte Avenue, near 105th Street, around 2:00 a.m. after a report of multiple shots fired.
Officers arrived to find a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his leg. Police say he was rushed to hospital and underwent surgery for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Police received a description of the suspect’s vehicle and followed it into the downtown area. Officers eventually cornered the vehicle and took three people into custody. The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) says a firearm was located inside the vehicle.
Omar Seifeddine, 21, of Edmonton, has been charged with aggravated assault with a weapon, careless use of a weapon, possession of a restricted weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a loaded firearm.
