Blades continue to roll with win over Warriors

MOOSE JAW, Sask. – Alex Moodie was the difference as the Saskatoon Blades downed the Moose Jaw Warriors 2-1 in WHL action on Monday afternoon.

Moodie made 40 saves, including 16 in the third period, as the Blades (5-5-1) reached the .500 mark after starting the season with five straight loses.

The Warriors opened the scoring three minutes into the second period when Sam Fioretti put away a loose puck on the power play.

The Blades answered just 12 seconds later when the red-hot Nathan Burns found Nikita Sherbak for a one-timer.

Just over five minutes later, Collin Valcourt redirected a pass from Graeme Craig while the Blades where on the power play.

The Blades have now earned points in six straight games.

They are back in action on Thursday when they take on the Hitmen in Calgary.
