TORONTO – Fire officials say a body has been found inside a burned-out Toronto apartment building.
The city’s fire service says firefighters were called to the blaze around 5 a.m. Monday near Bathurst and Dupont streets.

They say it escalated into a two-alarm fire that was fought by 45 firefighters and 12 fire trucks.
Fire officials initially said searchers found no one inside.

But they now say a body has been discovered in the abandoned building.
The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office has been called in to investigate.
