One arrested, one injured after armed standoff in Victoria

One suspect is in custody after an armed standoff in Victoria Saturday morning.

Police say they were called to a residence in the 100-block of Wellington Avenue at around 7 a.m. for a domestic assault incident.

When police arrived, the suspect ran into the home and barricaded himself.

The block was closed off and power shut off to the homes.

Some neighbours say they were evacuated.

A suspect was taken into custody shortly before noon and police say they are still investigating at the home.

Police say the victim has non-life-threatening injuries.
