A crane operator has been killed by electrocution after coming into contact with a power line in Vancouver Friday morning, police confirm.

Work Safe BC said at around 10:45 a.m. they were on their way to investigate the incident at Slocan Street and 29th Avenue.

Police say the operator was electrocuted when the crane came into contact with the power line.

It is not known what caused the deadly incident.
