Fire officials say 1800 fires were recorded in 2013 in B.C. compared to the 1500 sparked in 2012.
But, only about 170 square kilometers of woodland burned. That’s significantly down from the 900 square kilometers scorched last summer.
So far, the bill for fighting those fires stands at about 134 million dollars.
