Late Wednesday afternoon, Stony Plain RCMP confirmed that 30-year-old Travis John Colby had died.

An employee of Old Bar, who does not want to be named, tells Global News that Colby was on shift, and went outside briefly for a break. At that time, she says, there was a confrontation and when Colby approached the people involved, he was struck in the head.

She shares that he had a heart of gold, and was a great employee; never missing a shift. He worked at Old Bar for three years, she says.
