The house was abandoned several years ago when Mission Creek burst its banks. Over the years, the creek has been gradually eroding the property — taking some structures with it.
The provincial government says it cost $65,000 to remove the house and a shed on the property. A bulk of the cost came from debris cleanup — more than $130,000.
Any expenses incurred by the Regional District of Central Okanagan have been reimbursed by the province.
The final price tag for the entire removal project was $200,000.
