UPDATE: Violent inmate has been located

UPDATE: The missing inmate was located within the facility grounds by an RCMP Police Dog Unite at 12:30 p.m. today.

A minimum security correctional facility has called in RCMP to help them locate a missing inmate, who is considered violent.

The William Head Institution, located on Vancouver Island about 25 kilometres southwest of Victoria, requested assistance from the West Shore RCMP to locate Michiel Hollinger, 61, inside their facility.

It is currently unknown whether Hollinger has left the grounds of the prison. Police are continuing to search both in and outside the facility.

RCMP say the inmate is considered violent and should not be approached. He is described as white, 183 cm (5’6″), 89 kilograms (150 lbs), with salt and pepper hair. He was wearing a brown shirt, blue jean and khaki hat.
