CALGARY – Police are investigating after a CTrain hit a pedestrian in the tunnel between City Hall and the Stampede.
EMS confirm a man in his 60’s was pronounced dead on scene after being found around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Police say the train was travelling southbound from downtown, when it hit the man who was walking southbound between the tracks. It’s not clear why he was in the tunnel, as he did not have authorization to be there.
The CTrain driver was not injured, but was taken to hospital for observation.

The incident caused delays on the 201 CTrain (Crowfoot to Somerset line) for several hours.
Anyone who has information about the incident is asked to call police.
