NEW YORK – The kindness of strangers was on full display in New York City as two men jumped into action to save a man from his burning apartment, and the act of heroism was caught on camera.

Roscindo Lopez, the superintendent of the adjacent building, heard the desperate cries of the man and quickly raced up to help him along with a neighbour.
The quick thinking men, using Lopez’s ladder as a makeshift platform, were able to climb over to the man, dangling from his 5th floor window, and help him to safety just as firefighters arrived on scene. The rescued man was taken to hospital with minor injuries and is expected to recover
