SASKATOON – The Saskatoon Health Region (SHR) filled a vacant position for a pediatric neurologist last month.
Dr. Simona Hasal received her medical training in Czech Republic and completed her post graduate training at University of Alberta.
“The short time I have been in Saskatoon has been wonderful and I am enjoying working with these young patients and their families,” said Hasal.

Like all members of the pediatric department, she has been certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
“Dr. Hasal is an important step forward in the preparation for the new Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan,” said Corey Miller, director of Practitioner Staff Affairs, SHR.
Construction of the children’s hospital is scheduled to start in 2014.
SHR is currently working on recruiting another pediatric neurologist to join the team.
