Police in Langley have arrested a home invasion suspect after a dramatic standoff Saturday night.
Investigators surrounded an apartment building on 206th Street after receiving a tip that Brody Alexander Muncey was inside.
Earlier, Langley RCMP said a warrant was issued for Muncey after two men broke into a second-floor apartment in the 5300-block of 206th Street Monday.
The Emergency Response Team was called in and several neighbours were moved as negotiators tried to convince Muncey to surrender, police said.
When negotiations failed, crews used tear gas and a Taser to arrest him.
Police allege that Muncey, 27, entered into an apartment occupied by a man and a woman in their 70s through a partially open sliding door.
Investigators were called and two suspects were identified.
Police said Muncey’s co-accused, 36-year-old Shawne Isinger was arrested and remains in custody.
Muncey will appear in court, facing charges of break-and-enter and unlawful confinement, Mounties said.
He was also found to be the subject of outstanding arrest warrants for robbery and use of an imitation firearm.
