EDMONTON – Police are warning the public about Leo Percy Ahkimnachie, who is being released from the Edmonton Institution after completing a sentence of just over 11 years for manslaughter and sexual assault causing bodily harm.
The crimes occurred in both northern and sourthern Alberta in 1994 and 2001. He will be living in the Edmonton area, where police say he will be closely monitored by their Behavioral Assessment Unit.
Police believe Ahkimnachie poses a risk of significant harm to the community and may re-offend violently.
He is 39 years-old, has brown hair and brown eyes, weighs 180 lbs and is 5’8″ tall.
