Fundraiser being held for Penticton plane crash victims

Today is the one year anniversary of a tragic plane crash near Penticton that claimed the lives of a young couple from Metro Vancouver. Now the families of the two victims are planning a special fundraiser in their memory.

30-year-old Dallas Smith was killed August 13 of last year when a Twin Piper Comanche he was a passenger in crashed near Brenda Mines in the Okanagan.

His girlfriend, 24-year-old Lauren Sewell was critically injured in the same accident. She died in hospital the next day. The couple were both students at BCIT.

A golf tournament fundraiser will be held in their memory tomorrow to raise money for student scholarships.
