REGINA – Regina police believe two people in the city who suffered gunshot wounds on the weekend were targeted by the same person.

Officers arrested 30-year old Gregg Joshua Meyer of Regina and retrieved a 22-calibre rifle early Sunday morning after hearing about the man walking around with a gun.

They got word a bit later about two men being wounded at separate addresses, but neither is in life-threatening condition.

Meyer is charged with possession of a firearm prohibited, careless use of a firearm, possession of cannabis, two counts of attempted murder, pointing a firearm, possession of dangerous weapons, unauthorized possession of firearm and uttering threats.

Meyer will make his first appearance in provincial court on Monday morning.
