For the first time since Environment Canada started keeping track of weather data, the month of July has recorded no rain at Vancouver International Airport.
As of 11 p.m. on Wednesday night there was no rain detected at the airport, meaning July was completely precipitation free.
It appears the record was broken just in time as some rain fell at YVR at 1 a.m. Thursday morning.
July 1986 was previously the driest month on record, although trace amounts of rain were recorded.
July 2013 had absolutely no rain at all.
Vancouver previously set the record for the sunniest July since 1985, with more than 388 hours of sunshine.
