MACKLIN, Sask. – A Calgary man is facing numerous charges after he led police on a wild chase over parts of western Saskatchewan on Tuesday morning.

RCMP say it began when officers investigating a break and enter and thefts of vehicles and snowmobiles in the Unity area were alerted to a suspicious truck.

A patrol officer spotted the truck towing a trailer stolen from Kerrobert south of Unity and attempted to pull it over.

The chase started when the suspect attempted the ram the police vehicle and fled, leading Mounties on a 120 kilometre chase throughout the Unity, Kerrobert and Luseland areas.

Spike belts were deployed twice but the suspect drove through ditches, fences and fields to avoid being captured.

The chase ended 90 minutes later just west of Macklin when the suspect rammed a police vehicle and attempted to drive down the CPR line, blowing out the wheels of the trailer.
