Surrey RCMP investigate after taxi shot at, passengers flee

Surrey RCMP are investigating after a taxi carrying four passengers was shot at Saturday night.

Mounties said a cab driver was driving on 102A Avenue near University Boulevard at around 10:50 p.m. when another vehicle pulled up beside the taxi on the driver’s side.

An occupant from the vehicle then fired a shot into the cab and the bullet passed through the driver’s side rear window and exited through the other side.

The taxi driver stopped the cab immediately and the suspect vehicle drove off.

As the driver came to a stop, the four passengers in his vehicle, two men and two women, fled the scene.

Police were unable to locate the four occupants.

Anyone with information is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers.
