UPDATE: Man slashed in Stanley Park last night

Vancouver police are looking for a man they think is responsible for last night’s slashing in Stanley Park.

It happened just before 11:00 p.m., somewhere between Second and Third Beach.

Officers responded to a report a 33-year-old Vancouver man had been slashed in the neck.

The man was taken to hospital and received stitches.

His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police contained the park and found a man matching the description of the suspect provided by a witness.

Investigators now say they have questioned the man and he has since been released without charges.

Police are now looking for a man in his 20’s who has a medium complexion, is 5’5” tall and has a slim build.

The man was wearing all dark clothing, baggy pants, a baseball cap, a dark backpack and a grey and white camouflage bandana over his face.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
