A 33-year-old man is dead after he was struck by a CN train Saturday morning.
It happened approximately a hundred feet south off the area known as “the foot crossing bridge”, directly south of the Village of Lytton.
Police say it appears the man was walking along the CN railway system with a group of friends.
The incident shut down the rail line for six hours as investigators were examining the scene. It has since been re-opened.
The circumstances leading up to the collision are still under investigation by the BC Coroner Service and the RCMP.
The victim’s identity has not been released at this time.
