The health of former South African president Nelson Mandela is said to be getting better as he celebrates his 95th birthday Thursday.
The office of President Jacob Zuma says Mandela is still in a hospital in Pretoria, but that his health “is steadily improving.”
Mandela has been in critical condition with a recurring lung infection for nearly six weeks.
Many cities will celebrate Nelson Mandela International Day today and he’ll be honoured at an event at Toronto’s Nelson Mandela Public School.
