One person is dead after a two-car collision in Langley Sunday morning.

Police said the crash happened at the intersection of the Fraser Highway and the Langley Bypass at around 7 a.m.

Police say a Honda Civic was traveling north on Fraser Highway and a Cadillac Escalade was traveling east on the Langley bypass.

It appears that the Escalade was going through the intersection on a green light when the collision occurred.

The lone occupant of the Honda Civic, a 20-year-old Abbotsford woman, has succumbed to her injuries. The lone occupant of the Escalade, a 69-year-old Surrey man, was transported to area hospital with minor injuries and was released.

The cause of the crash in unknown, but police say alcohol and speed do not appear to have played a role.
