Rehtaeh Parsons story appears in People magazine

HALIFAX – The story of Rehtaeh Parsons short life and death resonated with people around the world and has now landed the teen on the front page of People magazine.

The tabloid magazine hits newstands Friday with an article on Rehtaeh called “Bullied into Suicide”

The article quotes Rehtaeh’s parents, Leah Parsons and Glen Canning, talking about their struggles after the teen’s death.

Rehtaeh committed suicide in early April, after an alleged sexual assault and bullying. Immediately after Rehtaeh’s death, her story was featured in publications from Australia to Germany and beyond.

Halifax RCMP and the IWK Health Centre are still investigating how her case was handled.
