PASADENA, N.L. – RCMP say a Newfoundland man has been charged after he allegedly tried to poison his dog with carbon monoxide over the weekend.
The 60-year-old Pasadena man is charged with administering a poisonous substance to a domestic animal.
Police allege the pet was placed in a running car while exhaust fumes were pumped in through a garden hose.
The dog was later euthanized at a veterinary clinic.
The accused is due in Corner Brook provincial court on Aug. 6.
Police say he has been released from custody on a number of conditions, including not to possess any animals.
