A young man is dead after a shooting in Abbotsford Sunday evening and police are saying it could be gang-related.
Just after 5 p.m. police were called to the intersection of South Fraser way and Emerson St. for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found a South Asian man in his twenties seriously injured and suffering from apparent gun shot wounds. He was transported to hospital where he died shortly after 6 p.m.
According to an Abbotsford police news release, witnesses say shots were fired from one suspect vehicle into a high-end black Mercedes sedan.
The incident has been handed over to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).
Streets near South Fraser Way and Emerson St. remain were closed to traffic as officers investigated.
The victim’s name has not been released and police continue to search for the suspect.
