Students, faculty, instructors and support staff are expected to march together today to show their solidarity and support for faculty after contract talks with the university stalled over the weekend.
The march will start at the bottom of the escalators in Centennial Hall at 12:30 p.m. Monday and end at strike headquarters at Balmoral Street.
Most of the 350 members of the University of Winnipeg Faculty Association voted last week to set a strike deadline of 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 9. Both the university and the union have agreed to ask for a provincially-appointed conciliator in an effort to reach an agreement.
