A homeowner got the shock of her life when she heard a noise outside and saw two huge black bears engaged in a brutal fight.

A video shot by a Coquitlam homeowner provides graphic evidence of how serious the bear problems in some communities are.  Both bears were covered in blood and appeared to be “fighting to the death”.

Police and conservation officers were called and both bears were shot and killed.

One officer said the two males could have been fighting over a female in the area and he also said one of the bears was the largest he’d ever seen in the area.
