Video: Mexican volcano erupts

Mexico’s Popocatepetl volcano erupted again early Monday morning, sending rock fragments over a kilometre away from the crater.

Popocatepetl, located 55 kms east of Mexico City, is one of Mexico’s most active volcanoes. It is also the second highest volcano in North America standing at 5,465 metres. Its name comes from the Aztec word for smoking mountain. About 30 eruptions of this volcano have been recorded over time.

The volcano has been very active over the past few weeks.
