Psychiatric assessment for accused in NB bus stabbing complete

GRAND FALLS, N.B. – A psychiatric assessment of the 27-year-old New Brunswick man accused in the stabbing of a bus driver is complete.

But details of the report were not released in court in Grand Falls yesterday.

Ryan Hickey was arrested last month after the attack against the Maritime Bus driver in Perth Andover.

The bus, which was travelling from Moncton to Riviere-du-Loup, Quebec, was stopped at a gas station when the driver was stabbed numerous times.

The victim had surgery in hospital and was later released.

Hickey is facing charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault.

He’ll scheduled to be back in court on June 4th for a fitness and bail hearing.
