TORONTO – Toronto police say they’ve arrested a 29-year-old southwestern Ontario man wanted by American authorities in a sexual assault on a six-year-old girl.
Police say Angel Leonel Parada Herrera was arrested under the Extradition Act at the request of the United States Marshals Service.
Investigators say Parada Herrera — a Canadian citizen — was arrested Tuesday at his home in Kitchener, Ont., by Toronto’s fugitive squad.
Parada Herrera is facing a charge of first-degree sexual assault in South Carolina.
Const. Tony Vella says Parada Herrera is being held in custody pending extradition.
