Shortly before noon on Wednesday, officials said water service had been repaired in the hamlet of Blackie, Alta.
Foothills County issued an emergency alert Tuesday evening to say the community had no water supply due to a water main break. Several hours later, the water supply was temporarily restored.
However, a boil water advisory remained in effect Wednesday “until Alberta Health Services advises it may be cancelled.”
The update said water lines were being flushed and the reservoir refilled.
Potable water is available between noon and 8 p.m. at the Blackie Arena located at 309 John St.
The alert said to drink only bottled water and if using boiled water for other purposes, to ensure it has reached a”rapid rolling boil” for at least one minute before using.
The hamlet of Blackie is located about 80 kilometres southeast of Calgary.
