Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement warning of “damaging” winds on Sunday for Waterloo region, Guelph and Wellington County.
The agency says that gusts of up to 90 to 110 km/h will arrive in the afternoon after a cold front passes through the area.
The winds are expected to slowly dissipate through Monday morning.

The winds could also bring snow to the area with Environment Canada saying some parts could see 2-5 cm by Monday morning.
Environment Canada warns that buildings could be damaged by the winds and that power outages are also a possibility.

The winds combined with the blowing snow may make visibility an issue for travelers.
In addition, the northern portion of Wellington could also see freezing rain on Saturday night.
Environment Canada says that highways, roads, walkways and parking lots could be slippery as a result.
