A sexual-assault investigation in Port Colborne from the 1960s has resulted in the arrest of an 84-year-old man.
Niagara Regional Police say the investigation began in November and identified two female victims, who were allegedly assaulted from 1966 to 1970 while they were between the ages of eight to 11 years old.
Police say the victims and the suspect were known to each other, and the offences are alleged to have occurred at the suspect’s residence in the Cedar Bay neighbourhood.
Joseph ‘Ross’ Clee is now facing several charges, including gross indecency, indecent assault, abduction, and sexual intercourse with a female under the age of 14.
This investigation remains ongoing by detectives, as they believe there are more victims. Anyone with more information is asked to contact them at 905-688-4111 extension 5100.
