Winnipeg police were on scene in a back lane on Spence , between Cumberland Ave. and Notre Dame Ave.
Police said they responded to a man who was assaulted in the area around 4:15 a.m. Thursday.
Police tape blocked off the back alley and one police cruiser could be seen in the area.
Police said the man was in stable condition.
