Police at a Maryland university are warning students there’s a helicopter mother on the loose, prowling the campus in search for a date for her son. Seriously.
The Towson University Police Department is investigating at least three incidents where students said they were approached by a woman, asking them if they were interested in dating her son, WBFF News reported.
The mother, who may or may not be itching to be a grandmother, approached students in the campus library and arts building, and attempted to show students a photo of her son on a mobile phone, asking them if they were interested in dating him, the Baltimore Sun reported.
Officials told the newspaper the woman is not being sought in a criminal matter, they just want to stop the woman’s behaviour.
Campus police issued a bulletin, asking for help identifying the woman.
“This incident advisory is being provided in order to make the TU Community aware of an incident on campus that may cause concern,” the department said. “This advisory is intended to heighten awareness and inform the community of incidents that may impact their safety and security.”

The department released two still images taken from security cameras on campus.
“If anyone knows the person shown here or is approached by her the police ask that you call… immediately,” police said.
