Three well-known Canadian acts are set to grace the stage at a newly announced music event in Calgary this spring.
The Calgary Stampede revealed Tuesday that Tom Cochrane with Red Rider, Loverboy and Chilliwack would be headlining the first annual Let There Be Rock concert on March 23.
The event will be held at the Stampede’s new music venue, The Big Four Roadhouse.
Stampede Entertainment Inc. President Adam Oppenheim said in a news release that they’re excited to have the music legends perform together.
“These bands composed the Canadian soundtrack,” he added.
“Their songs are undeniable Canadian anthems.”
Cochrane, perhaps best known for his single Life is a Highway, is a Juno Award-winner and Grammy nominee.
Loverboy, meanwhile, has sold over 10 million albums worldwide featuring hits like
Working for the Weekend and Turn Me Loose.
Hit songs from Chilliwack include Whatcha Gonna Do and Fly at Night.
Oppenheim said Let There Be Rock promises to be an “incredible experience” at the new music venue.
Tickets are $79 plus fees and go on sale via Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 1.
