Edmonton – It’s been three weeks since family members have heard from Gary Francis Rain. Now, they’re hoping someone will help find the missing Edmonton man.
The 23-year-old has been missing since March 12th. On that day, Rain reportedly spoke to his common-law wife. During the conversation, he indicated he was on his way home.
“He has three kids. He has a common-law. He was always responsible for them, ” says Rain’s uncle, Henry Alexis, who has raised Rain since he was seven-years-old.
Spruce Grove and Stony Plain RCMP have been investigating the case since shortly after the 23-year-old was reported missing.
Police say Rain also visited his grandfather at a Health Centre in Stony Plain on March 12th. He hasn’t been heard from since.
“I don’t know how he disappeared or why. If he should hear me anytime, anywhere, should be able to see me, I’d love for him to call and come back,” says Alexis.
“He missed his daughter’s birthday which is very out of character, and we also know that he hasn’t been accessing his bank accounts,” says Corporal (Cpl.) Colette Zazulak, Stony Plain/Spruce Grove RCMP.
The RCMP has no leads at this point. Police say Rain didn’t have a cell phone or a vehicle the day he went missing.
“We’re exploring all the tips that come in. We have had several possible sightings that we’ve followed up on but none of them have materialized,” says Cpl. Zazulak.
Family members say Rain has been living in west Edmonton and working for Enoch First Nation.
“We’re working closely with Edmonton Police Service. We have been going to the Paul Band First Nation, as well as Enoch First Nation, trying to find anyone who may have spoken with him,” says Cpl. Zazulak.
Anyone with information relating to Gary Rain’s whereabouts is asked to contact Spruce Grove/Stony Plain RCMP at (780) 962-2222 or (780) 968-7267.
