Strathcona residents worried about increased traffic volumes stage protest

Residents of Vancouver’s Strathcona neighbourhood rallied at a busy street corner this morning.

The residents say they are concerned that the city’s plans to remove the viaducts do not include any traffic calming on Prior Street, which is expected to see increased traffic volumes.

They say Mayor Gregor Robertson promised traffic calming in a news release posted on his website on July 24, 2012, but the city’s latest plan presented this February does not include any traffic calming.
