Good things happen to those that help themselves. For the Winnipeg Jets they can greatly enhance their chances of a playoff spot with their 2nd win in five days over the Carolina Hurricanes when the two teams meet at MTS Centre Saturday afternoon at 2pm CT. This past Tuesday the Jets won 4-1 in Raleigh to increase their Southeast Division lead over the Hurricanes to six points.
That is still the margin of difference between the two as both teams lost games on Thursday night. The Jets to the Penguins and the Canes to the Maple Leafs. Carolina does have 3 games in hand but have gone winless in their last 7 games managing only a point from a shootout loss to the Rangers. The Jets meanwhile have won 6 of their last 10 to climb to the top of the division and 3rd in the Eastern Conference with 38 points.
