Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the central and south Okanagan, where the temperature is expected to reach 35 C Monday.
“The summertime heat continues over the southwest interior. Daytime highs of at least 35 C and overnight lows of 18 degrees will occur over the next couple of days,” Environment said in the warning.
Temperatures are expected to climb ever higher Tuesday with an expected high of 36 C.
Environment Canada said slightly cooler weather is in store for mid-weed as another system moves through the area.
After the temperature peaks on Tuesday, it will gradually decline to a high of 28 C by Friday.
