Regina police search for attackers in campground stabbing

The Regina Police Service (RPS) are turning to the public for information after a violent attempted-robbery resulted in the stabbing of a 49-year-old man.

RPS is requesting assistance from the public in its investigation into an assault causing bodily harm, which occurred at about 2:30 a.m. July 8, 2018 at a campground east of the city.

The male victim had been visiting with a friend at one of the campsites and was making his way back to another campsite.  As he was walking, he was struck on the head by an unknown person or persons, who attempted steal his wallet.

The victim sustained injuries, consistent with stab wounds, described as non-life-threatening.  He was taken to hospital by friends.  The victim was not able to describe his assailants.  At this time police have not identified potential suspects.
