Winnipeg motorcyclist with need for speed hit with $1463 ticket

A motorcyclist in Winnipeg hit high speeds over the weekend and may lose his driver’s license.

The driver was caught by Winnipeg police doing 198 km/hour in a 90 zone on Friday.

The speed earned him a $1,463 ticket.

Police tweeted out a picture of the radar screen with a view to encouraging drivers to make more responsible choices.

Despite the speed, police said vehicles are not impounded unless drivers are caught racing.

The serious offence notice means the Registrar of Motor Vehicles may suspend or cancel the driver’s license.
